AzureWatch was originally developed in 2010 as a tool to provide auto-scaling support to Windows Azure, which was just coming out of beta. Over the years, we adjusted and adopted AzureWatch to meet demands of our customers. Many needs were addressed with great success, but some turned out to be more difficult to satisfy.
In summer 2014, the queue of requests for features within AzureWatch was full of issues that were simply impossible to implement within AzureWatch architecture. Therefore we decided to re-architect and re-brand AzureWatch as a new cloud monitoring and automation platform.
Going forward, all the new features will be added to CloudMonix platform. AzureWatch is expected to be retired in April of 2017.
Here is a side-by-side comparison table of existing features support by both products as of January 1st, 2017. For details as to specific features of the product please refer to “CloudMonix vs Azure Portal” article.
